Attention everyone who lives in Alabama (PARTICULARLY JEFFERSON COUNTY), Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, North Dakota, Minnesota, or Michigan: Your state along with the other nine listed accounts for 3/4 of total disposal of toxic metals into coal ash ponds in the United States. THIS MATTERS: most of these ponds are unlined, which means the toxins seep into the groundwater and thereby affect nearby creeks, rivers, our sources of drinking water. Please read this article and consider supporting Black Warrior Riverkeeper or the greater Waterkeeper Alliance in any way you can. And please help spread the word!
